In Week 6 of Term 1 our class focussed on how to write great explanations. We wrote about how to survive your first night in Minecraft (the game a lot of us are obsessed with!).
Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.
HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR FIRST NIGHT IN MINECRAFT
Is it your first night on minecraft… and you have no idea what to do? Well, read on because I’m going to explain how to survive your first night.
First, you collect some wood to make planks for, building tables and making tools. But here’s the catch you have only started so you're going to have to use your hands.Where you can find wood is from the trees you're going to have to have to break it with your hands, also you will have to collect sticks. How you can collect sticks is the same way as you collected the wood from the trees. This is going to be handy..
Second of all, you have to find a nice smooth, flat ground or a tree. Or you can dig in a mountain and not to far because when you wake up there is a chance that you may die. That’s why I recommend a tree because it’s better, as long as you secure the surrounding. Make sure it’s near resources(like water, food) and make it away from mobs which are zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers and endermen that can bite you to death. Have you found a good place to camp?
Thirdly, you should go out and get some resources. Get some leather. Where you will find leather is from cows, but you will have to kill the cow to get leather. Sometimes you will not get leather. After that you will have to find the cobblestones. Cobblestones are mostly found in the minds, so you will have to go minding. In the end you have wood to make all the other resources.(Torches, furnace, other resources…)
Also get food from pigs, cows and waters from the lake.
In conclusion, you're going to have to do something for me… find some friends to camp with. What’s good about camping all alone. You got to have fun!!!
