DEADLY MARS!

This week we have been learning about MARS! We have learnt a-lot. So I am posting this up to show all of my learning about Mars! I hope you learn fun facts! Down below is my report. (I have also made my writing colourful and checked it against the SC!)

Introduction:
Have you ever wondered about Mars’? Well if you are always wondering about the reddish orange Mars’. Then read on, this report will help you learn a decent amount of information about Mars’.

1st Paragraph: Surface features
Mars’ is a lifeless planet,it is harsh, rocky, red and the fourth planet in the solar system. Did you know that Mars’ is a continent that makes Mars’ have frozen polar caps and a canyon called Mariner Valley. Even though Mars is cold it has the biggest volcano in the universe called Olympus Mons and it is almost the same height as Mt Everest. If you were there your life would   be lifeless!

2nd Paragraph: Why people can’t live on Mars..
The reason why people can’t live on Mars, Mars’ atmosphere is thin that causes Mars to be cold. Mars’ temperature is 80.8 degrees and all of the water on Mars’ turns into ice. Most of all, Mars has storms that blows the sand everywhere and the storm could be on for months. Also one big thing is that Mars’ does  not have much water than on Earth. Oxygen is also required there  because there is probably 0.2% oxygen on Mars. There is also no magnetic field to block the harmful radiation. 3rd paragraph: Mars’  Moons
Phobos and Deimos is the names of Mars’ two moons. Phobos and Deimos are shaped like lumpy potatoes. One fact about Mars’ moons is that Mars’ moons were captured as asteroids! They were discovered in 1877 by Asaph Hall. The moons were named after characters from Greek mythology and their father is Ares God of war! Therefore they have not been having a harmless life!

This is a photo of Mars’s moons!

The orbit of Mars!

Even though Mars is our closest neighbour, it’s orbit is very difficult. A day equals 24 hours and 37 minutes on Mars. This is because it spins slower than our planet. Moreover, a year on Mars is the same as 687 Earth days! Imagine if you lived on Mars, you would be almost half the age you were on Earth!
This is a photo is of Mars’ orbit!

Conclusion:

I gather you have learnt some facts about Mars? Well if you have and you still would like some more facts about Mars- http://www.planetsforkids.org/planet-mars.html. I hope you have enough ideas for your report!

  1. Salut Ashlyn,
Thank you for sharing your learning about Mars and for coming up with such a great title for your report!

    Your next learning steps are:
    1) Writing a clear introduction that introduces the report's main ideas.
    2) Make sure that you use formal language in your writing (do not instead of don't)
    3) Proofread your work for grammatical errors.
